Located along the Atlantic Flyway for North American bird migration, the park is one of the go-to places for birding in NYC. You'll even find rare birds like the Pied-billed Grebe, the American Bittern, and the Saw-whet Owl. Other birds commonly spotted in the area are the Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, the Green Heron, the Red-tailed Hawk, and 18 species of ducks.
