The Long Island art collections at this museum span 500 years of art in the west. When you visit this wonderful museum you can view paintings and works of art from the original collection of August Heckscher, the museum's founder, which include works by famous European artists as well as local Long Island artists. Visitors will enjoy walking through the permanent collections of abstract art, American modernist paintings and photography by such famous artsts as Goergia O'Keeffe, Man Ray and Guy Pene Du Bois.
Art education programs for all grades take place throughout the year with a goal to impart to young minds an appreciation for arts of all type. Tickets cost $8 for adults and $5 for children 10 and up - discounted rates are available to residents of Huntington Township. The museum is open from Wednesday through Sunday year round.
