Liberty Bell Center

Liberty Bell Center

A Symbol of Independence

There are many ways to enjoy a cool day with something to do in Pennsylvania. One of them is visiting the Liberty Bell Center in Philadelphia. The Bell has inspired old and young generations to convey the message of liberty. It was called the “Liberty Bell” by an abolitionist group trying to outlaw slavery. Since then, the bell has become an icon for independence.

The Bell weighs about 2,080 pounds and it is made of 70% copper, 25% tin and a small amount of lead, zinc, arsenic, gold, and silver. The center opens daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the bell is visible 24 hours a day.
