Explore the Lab of America's Greatest Inventor!

Spend a day exploring the home and lab of one of NJ's most famous citizens. Thomas Edison's home of Glenmont is a grand estate located atop a hill in East Orange NJ. Visitors can have a guided tour of the29 room mansion which is still decorated in period style and learn interesting facts about the Edison family and what life was like in the late 1800s.

After exploring Glenmont, visitors can head over the Edison's laboratory to see the equipment on which Edison worked, a phonograph demonstration, a tour of the chemistry building and much more. See Edison's movie studio and watch The Great Train Robbery, a 1903 silent film that was one of the most innovative of its day.
