Step Into Literary History!
Visit cottage that was home to famous author and poet Edgar Allan Poe. Located right in the Bronx, this cottage is where Poe composed some of his most famous poems including Annabell Lee, and where he spent the last years of his life. Having now been restored as a museum, the cottage is decorated in authentic period style with several of the original furnishings of Poe and his wife.
Admission to the cottage is $5 per adult visitor. When you visit this Bronx historic site you can view a short film presentation on Poe and his tragic life and death, and receive have a guided tour of the small cottage where, among other things, you will see the bed in which Poe's beloved wife Virginia spent her last moments. The Poe Cottage is open on Saturdays and Sundays.
