Celebrate Nature in Brooklyn!
These small Brooklyn botanical gardens are run entirely by volunteers! They were begun in 1995 as an effort to provide a sanctuary for wildlife and humans alike and to promote awareness of the beauty of nature. Now they have grown to include a butterfly garden, bubbling brooks and waterfalls, a Zen garden and a lily pond.
Regular events take place in the gardens including outdoor movie nights, tea parties and harvest festivals. Free children's education classes are offered during the warmer months where kids can learn about nature and the environment. These botanical gardens in Brooklyn have free admission.
