The Village of Lawrence has experienced several transformations in recent years.  Former rural lands and farms have been developed into a resort area, now a thriving community.

Several of the larger homes in the Lawrence village area, which were originally built as summer residences, have become quaintly known as "Back Lawrence."  There are newer and larger estates which have given way to many of the numerous, smaller developments, contributing to what the Village of Lawrence, New York has become.  There is over 100 years of rich, interesting history to experience here.
