Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art

Learn about Tibetan and Himalayan Art and Culture!

This amazing collection of Tibetan and Himalayan art can be found in a unique museum designed to resemble a monastary in the Himalaya Mountains. Begun in 1938 by Jacques Marchais to help people learn about the culture of Tibet and the far east, this is one of the earliest Tibetan art collections in the United States.

Over 1,000 objects, instruments, sculptures and paintings are on display in this Staten Island art museum. Regular cultural events and classes take place at the museum, and visitors and attendees can learn more about Tibetan and Himalayan culture through many mediums. Admission is $6 per adult and the museum is open Friday through Sunday.

This museum is open 7 days a week except on certain holidays.
