Crystal Cave

Know The Historical Crystal Cave in PA

The Crystal Cave in PA was founded in the year 1871 by William Merkel together with his assistant John Gehret. They were blasting for a limestone on a farm which was owned by the parents of William Merkel. That time, the crushed limestone was a very valuable resource which was widely used by the farmers in order to increase the fertility of soil. Becuase of their astonishment, they have noticed a dark and narrow hole in the side of the steep hill which is about 80 feet from the Merkel's farmhouse. To know more about the journey on how they discovered the Crystal Cave and how it came into life, visit their website.
