Red Hook Boaters

One of the Best Kayaking Clubs in Brooklyn!

Based in Brooklyn's Louis Valentino, Jr. Pier Park; Red Hook Boaters is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to bringing people together through the fun-filled sport of kayaking.  The club's 100% free programs give people safe and inclusive access to kayaking, as well as programs that promote the cleanliness and maintenance of the park's launch site.

 

All equipment will be provided, along with paddling and safety tips.  Kayak along the protected waters of the park and explore the cove at your own pace.  Or you can join your fellow volunteers in shoreline clean-up activities.  To become a volunteer, the e-mail address is provided on the website.

Sebago Canoe Club

Kayaking Trips, Lessons, and Activities in Brooklyn!

A volunteer-run, non-profit boating club in Canarsie, Brooklyn; the Sebago Canoe Club is located on the Paerdegat Basin, rewarding you with direct access to the spectacular Jamaica Bay waters.  Members of the club include kayakers, canoeists, sailors, rowers, and flatwater racers.  With your membership you're given access to a clubhouse and club boats, boat storage; instructional programs in sea kayaking, sailing, and flatwater racing; and a cabin on Lake Sebago in Harriman State Park.

 

Sebago boasts the largest membership out of all activity groups in the area and has a busy schedule of trips, lessons, and activities.  During the peak season you can enjoy guided kayaking trips along Jamaica Bay, as well as regional trips in the Tri-State area.  If you have any questions about becoming a member, send an e-mail to membership@sebagocanoeclub.org.  The membership form is available on the website.
